In 1983 the SBL established a Q Seminar (until 1989). In 1990 this was transformed into a Q Section, which finished its first six-year term in 1995.

The SBL Q Section is closely related to the International Q Project. The IQP's reconstruction of Q has been published in The Critical Edition of Q.

A comprehensive and detailed statement of arguments for this reconstruction can be found in the ongoing series Documenta Q.

In connection with the SBL Q Section, David M. Scholer prepares a Q Bibliography: The Twentieth Century. See the latest provisional installments:

  • Q Bibliography Supplement VII: 1996, in: SBLSP 35 (1996) 1-7.
  • Q Bibliography Supplement VIII: 1997, in: SBLSP 36 (1997) 750-756.
  • Q Bibliography Supplement IX: 1998, in: SBLSP 37 (1998) 1005-1012.
